Administration and Communications Specialist
Niyat Teferi is a dedicated advocate for advancing public policy and addressing societal challenges, with a particular emphasis on equity. With experience as a youth program specialist at the Community Youth Center of San Francisco, she facilitated various academic and wellness programs, leaving a lasting impact on middle school students. With a Master’s in Public Administration from San Francisco State University, her academic journey also featured qualitative research on the efficacy and experiences of COVID-19 vaccines within the San Francisco community, offering valuable insights into public health. Along with obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations at California State University, Chico, she is passionate about influencing public policy at the local level through compelling storytelling and media campaigning. Her commitment to community empowerment and media engagement was done through the work as digital marketing associate at Karma Yoga, a woman-centered/owned yoga studio in San Francisco. Niyat hopes to continue her work, advocating for equity and driving positive change in public policy for underserved communities, specifically in the Bay Area.
